The Kal Bhairav temple is a hindu temple located in the Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh , India. It is dedicated to Kal Bhairav , the guardian deity of the city. Located on the banks of the Shipra River it is one of the most active temples in the city, visited by hundreds of devotees daily. This temple is very unique as you will find liquor being served in the temple. This is miracle as this is the only temple which does that . The nearest airport is Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport , Indore , which is at a distance of 53 kilometer from the temple and the Ujjain has a railway station in its west , from where Shubh Yatra Tour and Travels provides you the facility to reach the temple via road transport and provides you amenities like hotel room , breakfast , lunch and dinner , etc. The timings for visiting the temple is from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm . The worship of Kal Bhairav was traditionally popular among the Kapalika and Aghora sects, and Ujjain was a prominent centre of these sects. There is a diya stambh in the temple right infront of the murti at some distance which is also an attractive thing in the temple . The temple is known for its unique architecture and the fact that it does not differentiate between people . There is no VIP line and everyone is treated as equal. The idol of Kal Bhairav cannot be touched.
